On Monday, January 19, 2015, Husch Blackwell sponsored the Missouri State Society of Washington, DC’s second annual outing to the Washington Wizards NBA basketball game to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis. Over 50 members of the Missouri State Society, a non-profit group of Missourians who live and work in the nation’s capital, attended the game. Following the Wizards 35-point victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, St. Louis native Bradley Beal hosted a meet-and-greet for the group in a private room at the Verizon Center, where Beal signed autographs and posed for photos. At the post-game reception, Mark Milton, former president of the Missouri State Society and attorney in Husch Blackwell’s St. Louis office, presented a donation check from the Missouri-based law firm to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis, where Beal grew up playing basketball.
Flint Fowler, President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis, was present to accept the donation and remarked, “I could not be more thankful to the Missouri State Society and Husch Blackwell for their gracious support. I also want to thank Bradley Beal for the image that he has always lived by and the role model that he still is for our kids in St. Louis.” Bradley Beal also shared his gratitude for the support from his home state stating, “You guys are family. It’s always great to have you here.”
